Hulu Plus Drops to $7.99

A few months back, people were not sure about paying $10 for Hulu Plus — a service that had previously been free. Now, the streaming service is available to all, at a reduced $7.99 fee.

This price feels right if the company wants to compete with Netflix, but Netflix rocks!

If they are using the “such as” below shows to promote it, then we won’t be subscribing just yet. Hulu Plus offers instant access to full seasons of current and classic TV programming, “such as” 30 Rock, Modern Family, Glee, The A-Team, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and much more. The freebie service only has a few episodes of each.

Also, Hulu Plus is available wherever you want it, to some extent. Like the standard Hulu, it can be viewed on a computer, but adds in the PS3, the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, as well as Roku’s set-top boxes, select HDTVs and other devices. To date, Hulu has blocked its free counterpart from streaming to TV sets.

Another major difference is that your monthly fee will get you a 720p HD stream, as opposed to the free standard-def stream.
