Good news for German motorsport enthusiasts: The first Formula 1 race since 2013 at the Nürburgring can take place in front of the public – provided the Corona situation does not change during the race weekend.
20,000 spectators can attend the Formula 1 race at the Nürburgring in mid-October. The Ahrweiler district administration announced this on Monday as the responsible health authority. The Formula 1 weekend from 9 to 11 October is the first guest appearance of the motorsport premium class in the Eifel in seven years.
“If the title ‘Grand Prix of the Eifel’ is awarded on 11 October, it will be an advertisement for the Eifel far beyond the motorsport boundaries, in which Formula 1 is also a piece of identity,” said Prime Minister Malu Dreyer (SPD) Met.
