Sandhausen (AP) – SpVgg Greuther Fürth is back at the top of the 2nd Bundesliga.
A week after the 0: 1 against 1. FC Heidenheim, the still unbeaten Franken won 3-0 (2-0) on Friday evening when SV Sandhausen was threatened with relegation and replaced Holstein Kiel as leader at the start of the eleventh match day. In the second game of the evening, VfL Bochum won 3-0 (0-0) at home against the relegation of the Bundesliga SC Paderborn 07.
Julian Green (30th minute) and Jamie Leweling (33rd) fired the Fürth in Sandhausen early on their way to their fourth away win in a row. Substitute Dickson Abiama (87th) made everything clear.
In Bochum, seven minutes were enough for the hosts to make the win over Paderborn perfect: Robert Zulj drew the 1-0 in the 54th minute, before Zulj scored 2-0 in 60 seconds with a penalty kick (60th) and Simon Zoller (61st ) made it 3-0 for the final score.
With the win, Bochum’s team climbed to second place in the table, at least for now. However, the Paderborn suffered their third loss in a row – and went without a hit of their own for the third time in a row.
