Residents of China’s eastern Huangpu district in Shanghai witnessed an unimaginable incident earlier this month: ‘walking’ of a building.

An 85-year-old primary school building has been completely demolished and relocated. A new type of technology has been used in this work. This technique is being called a walking machine.

As part of the preservation of the historic facility, engineers installed about 200 mobile supports under the five-story building. They are like the legs of a robot. It is divided into two parts. One goes up and the other goes down. Walking like a human being. They are controlled by sensors mounted in front of the building.

The technology was invented in 2016 by a company called Shanghai Evolution Shift. The company’s chief technical supervisor, Lan Wuzi, said it was like giving the building a crutch so that it could stand and walk again. Source: CNN
