Dortmund (AP) – Marco Rose, the coach of Borussia Mönchengladbach, is a popular candidate for the coaching position at Borussia Dortmund next summer, according to information from the newspaper “Bild”.
According to the report, the 44-year-old will then receive a release clause in his contract, which runs until 2022. Rose moved from Salzburg to Mönchengladbach in 2019 and last led the club to the last sixteen of the Champions League.
As early as late October, Mönchengladbach’s sports director Max Eberl had described speculation about a possible move from Roses to Dortmund as disrespectful. Rose said at the time that he generally did not comment on such things.
BVB divorced Lucien Favre after two and a half years. Decisive in the farewell to the 63-year-old Swiss was Saturday’s 5-1 home defeat against VfB Stuttgart. Until the end of the season, previous assistant coach Edin Terzic should lead the squad. For the first time, the 38-year-old is responsible for the team in the Bundesliga game at Werder Bremen next Tuesday. He is supported by former U17 coach Sebastian Geppert and top talent coach Otto Addo.
