At least 10 people were killed in a bomb blast targeting an Afghan Vice President

A roadside bomb has killed at least 10 people in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul. At least 15 others were injured in the incident on Wednesday. A bomb blast occurred shortly after in the afternoon in front of Vice President Amartullah Saleh’s convoy, but he remained speechless. Qatar-based Ala Jazeera reported this in a report quoted by officials.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack. No one has been officially convicted yet. The Taliban have also denied involvement in the attack. The group has an agreement with the United States not to carry out attacks in urban areas.

According to Reuters, the bombing occurred shortly after noon in front of the Kabul police recruitment center. But the Vice President is safe and has been able to go out of the area.

The victims were not immediately identified. A spokesman for Amalullah Saleh’s office, Rajan Murad, said in a Facebook post that the explosion had taken place. He said that again today the enemies of Afghanistan tried to harm Saleh. But they have failed to achieve their nefarious goals. Saleh suffered no casualties in the attack and fled the scene.

Rajvan Murad told Reuters that the attack was on Saleh’s convoy. Although the Vice President was not attacked, some of his bodyguards were injured.

A video spread on Facebook showed the strip in Saleh’s left hand. But clearly his condition is not very serious. Saleh said the attack happened on the way to the office in his convoy.

Saleh said, son My son is sitting next to me in the car and I am both fine. However, some of my bodyguards were injured. ‘

Saleh said that the explosion was very powerful. He said that although he was not seriously injured, parts of his face and hands were burnt.
