Twice in one night, a refugee residence in Mittelfranken went up in flames – investigators assume it was arson. All 106 residents of the accommodation in Höchstadt an der Aisch (Erlangen-Höchstadt district) were brought to safety during the fires on Thursday evening, police said.
A 26-year-old resident of the living quarters was arrested for significantly disrupting the work of the fire brigade and police. It is currently being determined whether he started the fires. According to the police, he was taken to a specialized clinic because of his psychological condition.
