Munich (dpa) – Defender Jérôme Boateng wants to fulfill his expiring contract with Bayern Munich.

“There have been no talks outside of my contract yet. But it is clear to me that I would like to continue on the path under Hansi Flick,” said the 31-year-old footballer from “Bild am Sonntag”. “I’m sure we can achieve a lot with this team next year. I want to be part of it again.”

2014 World Champion Boateng has been playing for FC Bayern Munich for nine years. In 2013 he was already part of the first German team to win the first triple of the championship, DFB Cup and Champions League. In the final against Paris Saint-Germain (1-0) he was in the base, but was injured in the first half. Between the two triples, Boateng was about to make a change more than once. Winning two triples with a pair of teammates will “always” connect them all with Bayern, Boateng said. “It’s also special for me, because I had left Munich almost twice before.”
