British MP arrested for rape

United Kingdom police have arrested a legislator suspected of rape. According to the BBC, the Conservative MP was arrested on charges of being a former Member of Parliament. He was later released on bail. The Metropolitan Police has started an investigation.

The news agency AFP arrested the lawmaker on Saturday, citing a statement from the country’s metropolitan police. However, his name was not disclosed. The Sunday Times first reported the rape and arrest of a Conservative MP, the BBC reported.

According to the BBC, the complainant against the MP referred to four separate incidents from July last year to January this year. The 20-year-old woman in the house has accused the Conservative legalist of sexually assaulting her and forcing her to have sex. It is alleged that the woman had to go to the hospital due to the mental condition caused by the rape.

On July 31, the Metropolitan Police received four separate charges of sexual harassment and sexual harassment, a police statement said. On August 1, a man in his 50s was arrested. Police said in a statement that he was granted bail on the condition that he appear in mid-August.

The Conservative Party has said it takes such allegations “very seriously”. A party spokesman said, “Since it is now in the hands of the police, it would not be appropriate to comment further.”
