Broken elbow: Thommy is absent from VfB for several weeks

Kitzbühel (AP) – Attacking man Erik Thommy broke his left elbow in the test match between VfB Stuttgart against FC Liverpool (0: 3) in Saalfelden, Austria.

The 26-year-old has already undergone surgery and, like the Bundesliga side, will be absent for several weeks. Thommy had hit the limits of the field in the first half in a tackle with Liverpool player Joe Gomez and was replaced.

Winger Roberto Massimo also had to leave early. The 19-year-old injured his left ankle without any intervention from the enemy and will leave training camp on Sunday and travel back to Stuttgart for further investigation.

Until August 29, the Swabians in Tyrol are preparing for the new season. They have moved to their quarter in Kitzbühel, on August 26 against Hamburger SV and on August 29 against Arminia Bielefeld there are further tests for them in Kufstein.
