The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered a large quantity of sophisticated rifles and ammunition in Ferozepur district along the Pakistan border. The firearms recovered on Saturday included three AK-47s and two M-16 rifles. Indian media Hindustan Times reported this.
During the operation, members of the BSF recovered an abandoned bag full of weapons and ammunition, the report said. The bag was found in the Jaginder Chowki area near the border on Saturday around 8 am local time.
A BSF official said six magazines and 91 rounds of AK-47 ammunition and 58 rounds of four magazines and M-16 rifle ammunition were recovered. Also, two pistols, four magazines and 20 rounds of ammunition were found in the bag.
A local BSF official Birbal Singh said the patrol team found the bag at a field near the border post. The weapon was found in a clean plastic bag.
