The Portuguese superstar fell victim to a raid but got off lightly – unlike his former teammate and Bayern returner Douglas Costa.
Bad news for Cristiano Ronaldo and Bayern-returned Douglas Costa: burglars have invaded the apartments of the two football stars. In the case of Ronaldo, who is currently with the national team, an autographed jersey, cash and “items of no significant material value” were stolen from the apartment in Funchal, Madeira Island, authorities said. In addition, the burglar has already been identified on the basis of recordings from the surveillance cameras, but has not yet been arrested.
Costa got it worse: the burglars stole 300,000 euros worth of jewelry and watches from the Brazilian’s apartment in Turin. Costa, who was not in the apartment during the incident, will be loaned out to German record champions Bayern Munich for a year and his contract with Juventus Turin will expire next summer. In recent months, several footballers had been victims of burglaries in Turin.
