They have a target game every match day of the Bundesliga: BVB youngster Haaland and Bayern star Lewandowski. But there is also admiration among the strikers. That now revealed the Dortmund.
Erling Haaland has been playing for Borussia Dortmund since January of this year. Although he is currently missing from the team due to a torn muscle, his record is already impressive: 32 games, 33 goals and six assists. This season alone, there have been ten goals.
One that is also unstoppable: Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski. He has scored 13 goals this season and is Munich’s engine. So it is no wonder that both attacking players received awards from the Italian newspaper “Tuttosport”.
“I’m looking at him”
While Erling Haaland took the trophy for the “Golden Boy”, ie the best U21 player in the world, on Monday evening, Robert Lewandowski was voted “Golden Player”, ie the best player in the world.
And Haaland? He then raved about his rivals in the league: “Lewandowski? He is one of the best players in the world. I look at him. I would like to achieve goals similar to his.”
Lewandowski wrote about his award on Instagram: “It’s a great honor and motivation for me.” And perhaps an incentive to keep dueling with Haaland when he is back on the field.
