A hole six feet deep in a playground: employees of the city of Oberhausen were amazed when they discovered it. Children probably dug it – just how is not clear yet.
The city discovered a hole six feet deep in a playground in Oberhausen and had it filled. The administration assumes that children dug it. “What tool was used to dig such a large hole is unknown,” the city confirmed on Wednesday. The “WAZ” reported about it.
As the administration announced, the hole had already been discovered on December 10 during a routine check on the children’s playground: “Immediately employees of the depot came with a wheel loader to close the hole so that the children can play safely again.”
According to the city’s children’s office, it was “concerned about a possible scenario like the one that unfolded in the summer of 2012 on the North Sea island of Amrum. A 10-year-old boy was buried there in his self-dug hole and suffocated.” The Children’s Bureau appealed to all parents to point out such dangers to their children.
