Hamburg (dpa) – The handball players of the SC DHfK Leipzig have received their first defeat of the season.
Despite the 22:25 (9:12) against Frisch Auf Göppingen in front of their own audience, the Saxons kept the lead in the championship with 7: 3 points because of the better goal difference.
Göppingen quickly found his way to the Leipzig race with an 8: 3 (18th) and 12: 7 (27th) lead. But then the team of Frisch-Auf-Coach Hartmut Mayerhoffer had a weak period before half time. Shortly after the break, the Leipzig team shortened to 10:12 with the third goal in a row. The connection was restored at 8.21 pm (50th). But Göppingen survived this phase and celebrated a well-deserved victory.
Thanks to a converted seven meters from Arnor Gunnarsson, Bergische HC reached a 30:30 (17:13) at TSV Hannover-Burgdorf and jumped to second place in the table. TBV Lemgo Lippe achieved an undisputed victory, which after 31:23 (15:12) at newly promoted TuSEM Essen, Leipzig and BHC is 7: 3 points. Bjarki Elisson scored seven goals for the TBV.
In the table cellar, the Eulen Ludwigshafen celebrated their first victory of the season at 27:26 (13:14) over host HBW Balingen-Weilstetten. Seven seconds before the end, Jannek Klein scored the decisive goal.
