The current transfer period is entering the hot phase. Lionel Messi’s mega move failed, but now another superstar could leave Barcelona – triggering further transfers.
A few big names have already changed clubs this summer. Leroy Sané, Miralem Pjanic and Thiago are among them. Some other names are already circulating in the media. It got more specific with Alvaro Morata. Italian Sky reporter Fabrizio Romano reported that the Spaniard would join Juventus Turin. A loan with a purchase option is the plan.
On Tuesday evening, Juve posted photos of Morata online upon arrival at Turin airport. The scorer change only depends on the medical check. Morata’s return, who stormed to Juventus from 2014 to 2016, is near perfect – and could spark a chain reaction.
Because Morata’s previous club, Atletico Madrid, naturally wants to fill the open position in the storm center. For several weeks now, the “Colchoneros” have been associated with Luis Suarez, who no longer has a future at FC Barcelona under Ronald Koeman.
Suarez tops the charts
The Catalans want to get rid of the Uruguayan to have room for Memphis Depay, who comes from Olympique Lyon. According to competition rules, Barcelona must first give up players before they can bring new players. Suarez is at the top of Blaugrana’s hit list alongside Nelson Semedo (for Wolverhampton Wanderers) and Arturo Vidal (for Inter Milan).
Suarez was also under discussion at Juve, but the club decided to stop him. Atletico was considered the favorites at the time, but the Madrid people do not want to pay a transfer fee, but Barcelona wants one, the Spanish newspaper “As” reports. That is why a transfer can still go through. Mainly because there is another alternative available in Suarez fellow countryman Edinson Cavani. The ex-PSG attacker would even be available for free.

This, in turn, could tip a Suarez deal, which would delay Barcelona’s planned new purchase. Like I said, Memphis Depay, Coach Koeman’s absolute dream player, should come. Koeman knows Depay from normal times with the Dutch national team and with the versatile striker he plans to attack firmly.
One thing is clear: Morata’s move is a matter of form and Atletico wants to respond quickly. This can cause a chain reaction, but it can also just result in another transfer.
