Draxler shoots PSG to their first stoppage time win

Paris (AP) – German national footballer Julian Draxler scored French champions Paris Saint-Germain for the first win in the third game of the season with a goal in injury time.

Draxler scored against FC Metz in the third minute of stoppage time the only goal for the 1-0 (0-0) victory for the side of German coach Thomas Tuchel. In the first two games of the season, PSG lost to FC Lens and Olympique Marseille. Now the former Bundesliga pro was releasing the Parisians, who were again outnumbered, late. Abdou Diallo saw yellow-red in the 65th minute.

The French professional league had previously launched an investigation into allegations of racism against Marseille player Alvaro Gonzalez. The league announced this on Wednesday evening after a disciplinary committee – but gave no further details about the content of this investigation. PSG’s Brazilian star striker Neymar had made allegations of racism against the Spaniard.

Neymar saw the red card in the final phase of the league match against Olympique Marseille on Sunday because he hit Alvaro with the flat hand on the back of the head. Neymar has now been banned from the disciplinary committee for two games, for another probationary period.

Neymar had recently apologized for his post-incidents behavior, but renewed allegations of racism. “Racism and bigotry are not acceptable,” Neymar wrote in an Instagram post. The reason for his withdrawal was racist remarks, Neymar reiterated. Gonzalez and Marseille coach André Villas-Boas had rejected the allegations after the game.
