At the World Cup Biathlon in Hochfilzen, Franziska Preuß was less than a second off the podium, while DSV top athlete Denise Herrmann did not get off the ground. The victory went to Norway.
Franziska Preuß missed her second podium of the winter at the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen due to a waffle. The 26-year-old missed in the 7.5 km sprint with a shooting error in fourth place, eventually half a second in third place. The actual German model athlete Denise Herrmann (+1: 22.0 minutes) was again clearly behind a top position after three shooting errors and again a mixed mileage.
With 23rd place, the 31-year-old missed the top 20 for the fourth time in the seventh individual race of the season and is in danger of losing the connection early in the overall World Cup. “Physically I felt really good,” Herrmann said on ARD: “Apparently I got five percent worse this year. I don’t know why, it actually didn’t feel that bad.”
On the other hand, Preuss created a strong starting position for the pursuer on Saturday (1 p.m. / in the live ticker on Chillreport), 25.1 seconds behind the winner Tiril Eckhoff (1 shooting error / 19: 38.0 minutes). After the third place in the same place last week, the woman from Ruhpolding had to admit defeat in the Norwegian triple victory, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (0 / + 7.6) and Marte Olsbu Röiseland (1 / + 24.6).
Janina Hettich (+58.5) took the second part of the World Cup norm in 13th place with a clear shot. Vanessa Hinz (1 / + 1: 24.8), Maren Hammerschmidt (1 / + 1: 28.3) and Anna Weidel (1 / + 1: 43.4) did not make the top 25.
After the chase of men and women on Saturday, the first mass start races of the winter are on the program on Sunday.
