The former world champion in the middle and super middleweight division won the first game after his time in prison. Felix Sturm clearly beat Timo Rost on points.
Felix Sturm has made a successful comeback. Almost five years after his last boxing fight, the 41-year-old former world champion beat twelve-year-old Timo Rost from Düsseldorf unanimously on points (110: 90, 99:91, 100: 93) in the Universum Gym in Hamburg on Saturday evening.
Both boxers had agreed on a weight limit of 77.5 kilograms. The limit is between super middle and light heavyweight. Sturm was clearly superior to his overwhelmed rival. The Düsseldorf was not really a determination of the position. In Sturm’s match record, there are now 41 wins in 50 professional fights. Rost suffered its first defeat in the 13th fight, two games ended in a draw.
The former world champion in the middle and super middleweight division was sentenced to three years in prison for tax evasion and doping in April this year. On the other hand, Sturm has revised. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
