Augsburg (AP) – FC Augsburg will again have to do without striker Alfred Finnbogason for some time. The Icelandic national footballer injured his thigh a little more seriously than was first thought during an international match a week ago.
“Maybe it will take him longer before he is back with us,” said coach Heiko Herrlich after the 2-0 draw against RB Leipzig in the best Bundesliga game on Saturday.
The diagnostics showed that the injury could be a long-term problem, Herrlich reported. Manager Stefan Reuter said it probably wouldn’t be a simple torn muscle fiber. The 31-year-old Finnbogason could therefore be out for four or six weeks.
