Bremen (dpa) – Goalkeeper Timo Horn is probably in the goal of 1. FC Cologne in the next game against Union Berlin after his injury-related substitution in the Bundesliga match at Werder Bremen (1: 1).
“I think he can play again in the next game,” said sports director Horst Heldt. Horn had been hit in the hip and, according to Heldt, “hurt with every movement,” but he suffered no major injuries.
At the same time, Heldt almost anticipated the renewed discussion about the goalkeeper, who was with the club all season. Many fans would rather see former world champion Ron-Robert Zieler, who was contracted over the summer, as a regular goalkeeper, who represented Horn well in his league debut on Friday. “Ron came out of the cold start very well. That is also a good finding”, said Heldt: “But I assume that Timo will be in goal again against Union.”
