The son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher is on his way to the title in Formula 2. The next step would be to enter the premier class. Now a prominent pilot is speaking out for it.

Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc can imagine a future at Ferrari together with Mick Schumacher. “Why not one day? Of course it is not ultimately me who makes the decisions, but I would certainly want him to come to Ferrari,” said the 23-year-old of “Sport Bild”.

The Monegasse closely follows the development of the son of the record world champion Michael Schumacher. “He is a great driver and I hope we will see him in the Formula 1 paddock next year.” His father Michael had won five of his seven world titles with Ferrari.

Most recently, team boss G√ľnther Steiner had sparked speculation about Mick Schumacher’s move to Formula 1 team Haas. Schumacher, 21, trained in the Scuderia Driver Academy and leads the general classification for the last four races of the season in the Formula 2 junior series.
