The son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher is on his way to the title in Formula 2. The next step would be to enter the premier class. Now a prominent pilot is speaking out for it.
Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc can imagine a future at Ferrari together with Mick Schumacher. “Why not one day? Of course it is not ultimately me who makes the decisions, but I would certainly want him to come to Ferrari,” said the 23-year-old of “Sport Bild”.
The Monegasse closely follows the development of the son of the record world champion Michael Schumacher. “He is a great driver and I hope we will see him in the Formula 1 paddock next year.” His father Michael had won five of his seven world titles with Ferrari.
Most recently, team boss Günther Steiner had sparked speculation about Mick Schumacher’s move to Formula 1 team Haas. Schumacher, 21, trained in the Scuderia Driver Academy and leads the general classification for the last four races of the season in the Formula 2 junior series.
