Paris (AP) – veteran Philipp Kohlschreiber was the first German to be eliminated from the men’s league at the French Open for tennis professionals.

The 36-year-old Augsburg lost on Tuesday in cold and wet weather in Paris against Chilean Cristian Garin 4: 6, 6: 4, 1: 6, 4: 6. Kohlschreiber had to admit defeat after 2:54 hours. For the Davis Cup player, Alexander Zverev, Dominik Koepfer, Daniel Altmaier and Jan-Lennard Struff each won their opening matches at the Stade Roland Garros.
