For example, ex-BVB stars whirl through Europe

BVB made a top transfer with Erling Haaland. The Norwegian immediately scored 13 goals in the second half of the season. But good strikers have a long tradition in Borussia, as evidenced by the top leagues in Europe.

Few players have managed to generate a three-pack in the first game for his new club. Martin Fenin, for example, who moved from FK Teplice to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2008 and shot Hertha three times. Or the ex-Dortmund player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who managed to achieve this performance against Augsburg in the summer of 2013.

Dortmund newcomer Erling Haaland also scored three goals in his first Bundesliga game for BVB – and more than that: the Norwegian scored seven times in his first three Bundesliga games for Borussia. A league record.

Aubameyang and Haaland are just two examples of Schwarz-Gelb’s “Goal Machine” quality seal. Chillreport has examined four former BVB attackers starting their new clubs:

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The Gabonese played for two and a half years for Arsenal in London – and has met regularly since. In the past as well as this season, “Auba” bet 22 times.

If he could share the top scorer title with Liverpool’s Mo Salah and Sadio Mané with this number of goals in the 18/19 season, this season was hardly enough to be victorious. Jamie Vardy of Leicester was even more dangerous than the striker with 23 goals.

But the Arsenal captain triumphed in the cup. With two goals in the semi-finals against Manchester City, he led his team to the FA Cup final, again assuring not only the cup win but also the late entry into the upcoming Europa League season with a double pack.

Ciro Immobile

Failed at BVB, Ciro Immobile has been blooming in Italy for years. This season, however, the Italian striker has become even cooler for the opponent’s goal.

Especially at the end of the first half of the season, the 30-year-old showed up and scored no less than 13 times in nine games – an absolute top score. And in the season finale, he secured his team fourth place with seven goals in five games and thus the Champions League qualification.

Ultimately, Immobile scored 36 goals in 37 games in Serie A. Not only did he leave Juventus Turin’s league rival Cristiano Ronaldo (31 goals) clear. The ex-Dortmund outperformed Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski in a European comparison – winning the Golden Boot as the world’s best scorer.

Robert Lewandowski

Good, better, Lewandowski. When it comes to the quality of a striker in the Bundesliga, Robert Lewandowski is the benchmark of all things. For the fifth time in total and for the third time in a row, the Pool won the top scorer.

After 29 goals in the 2017/2018 season and rather “disappointing” 22 in the 2018/2019 season, Lewandowski scored a whopping 34 times in the “Corona season”. Dieter Müller last scored as many goals in one season in 1977. This fact also underscores the enormous quality of the Munich nine.

Lewandowski is also currently the leader of the Toschützenlist in the Champions League (for Erling Haaland (ten goals) and Serge Gnabry (six goals) – and the season of the king’s league is not over yet.

Alexander Isak:

Isak is one of the relatively unknown former BVB attackers, as he barely got a chance during his time with Borussia. In Spain, the Swede now seems to have found his luck with Real Sociedad.

In the league, Isak scored a total of nine times. The lone 20-year-old striker was not his team’s top scorer, but as a substitute he made a significant contribution to seventh in the championship. If you adjust your balance according to your minutes of use, Isak saves on average in every second game.

His stats in the cup are also impressive. Seven hits in seven games, plus two templates for Isak, mostly in the Quarter-finals against Real Madrid showed up. A top value that even ensured Real Sociedad’s final participation.
