Hamburg (AP) – Ex-trainer Ewald Lienen stays with FC St. Pauli. The 67-year-old will be a brand and value ambassador for the second division football team, the club announced.
Lienen has been involved in themes such as sustainability, environmental protection and social initiatives in the past. The previous technical director must now maintain and expand contacts with the club partners and represent FC St. Pauli on match days and at lectures.
“We have the power to make a change. Sustainability and environmental protection are very dear to me and should be promoted every day,” said Lienen. FC St. Pauli stands for values ”which are essential in life outside of football”. The former professional of Arminia Bielefeld, Borussia Mönchengladbach and MSV Duisburg was head coach at FC St. Pauli from December 2014 to July 2017.
