After a decade and a half as a professional football player, Marvin Compper ended his career. Most recently, the 35-year-old played for MSV Duisburg. However, he did make it to the national team once.

Former Bundesliga pro Marvin Compper ends his active career with MSV Duisburg and becomes assistant coach of the third division football team. The club announced this on Saturday.

The 35-year-old, who had a brief assignment in the national team in 2008, will support head coach Torsten Lieberknecht and his team in the future. Compper played 195 Bundesliga and 70 second division games and played 16 times in Serie A for AC Florenz.
