Former coach of the national football teams of Austria and Croatia, Otto Baric, passed away on Sunday at the age of 88. The Croatian Association has announced. Baric was in charge of the Austrian squad from April 1999 to November 2001 and in his home country he was national coach from 2002 to 2004.
In the Austrian Bundesliga he won the championship title seven times with Wacker Innsbruck, SK Rapid and SV Salzburg. In addition, Baric was in the European Cup final with the Vienna team in 1985 and the Salzburg team in 1994.
Baric was also active in the Bundesliga. His only assignment, from 1985 to 1986 at VfB Stuttgart, was unsuccessful.
