Nürburg (dpa) – After another corona case, the Formula 1 team Mercedes has exchanged part of its crew for the Grand Prix of the Eifel.

As the World Championship racing team announced on Friday, six substitutes from the United Kingdom have come to take over the vacant positions. Mercedes had made a first positive test on an audience of a team member. It wasn’t drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.

The entire team was retested for the virus on Thursday. There was one more positive evidence and one that was not clear is being rechecked. All other Silver Arrows employees tested negative.

According to Formula 1 Corona guidelines, four more team members can no longer participate in the Grand Prix weekend. Mercedes also wants to continue to work closely with the global automobile association Fia. The race team will not publish details of the employees involved.
