Leipzig (dpa) – The departure of Timo Werner has apparently created a new way of thinking at Bundesliga football club RB Leipzig.
Playmaker Emil Forsberg believes that the team has often relied too much on the Chelsea international in the past. “Now we had to adapt and we played an excellent game against Mainz. Because everyone took their responsibility,” said the Swedish international of “Bild”.
Forsberg therefore sees RB well equipped to beat champion Bayern Munich this season. “We were the only team that didn’t lose to them last season. And on good days we can certainly beat them,” said the 28-year-old. Forsberg considers the game in Leverkusen next Saturday (3.30 pm / Sky) as groundbreaking. “We can set an example with a victory. It will be very difficult for all teams to win there again this year.”
