Robert Lewandowski was missing, David Alaba was missing – and yet at the end of the Champions League group stage there was a victory for Bayern. In the 2-0 victory against Lok Moscow, the German record champion needed a lot of energy to end the year in the premier class.
“We wanted to end 2020 – it was an excellent Champions League year – with a win,” said coach Hansi Flick after the game. “We did well defensively,” he added, praising striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who made the score: “It was good for him to score.” Niklas Süle had previously put Bayern ahead with his first goal in the Champions League.
