Last weekend, Schalke nearly ended their horror series against Augsburg. But in the end it was a draw. On Wednesday the miners received Freiburg – another defeat was welcomed.
Last weekend was a turbulent weekend for FC Schalke 04. The negative series against FC Augsburg almost ended with a victory, but in the end it was only enough for a draw.
In the English week, Royal Blue received SC Freiburg on Wednesday evening – and again failed to win. With the 2-0 defeat against SCF, the horror series for S04 continues. Over the seasons, the club has had 28 games without a win.
Sallai became the player of the game
Right at the start, the Freiburg team showed up and had a good chance in the first ten minutes via Roland Sallai (8th), but Schalke’s goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann is there. The first shot at Schalke’s goal was made by Suat Serdar after fifteen minutes, but it just passed. Both teams concentrated on the defense, making the halftime 0-0.
Shortly after the break, Freiburg scored 1-0 via Sallai (50th). A Hungarian header that shocked Schalke. And with that, Royal Blue’s security shook further, as less than twenty minutes later, Sallai rose to 2-0 (68th) for the Breisgauer. And it plunged Schalke 04 even deeper into the crisis.
