A 31-year-old was killed while hiking in the Tyrolean mountains. Apparently he had crashed while descending the Roßkogel. His wife has reported him missing.
A German mountaineer was killed in an accident in the Tyrolean mountains. The 31-year-old should have crashed down the Roßkogel in the municipality of Ranggen near Innsbruck on Friday, police said on Saturday. His wife, with whom the man lived in Tyrol, raised the alarm after he was not home at the appointed time.
The German called for the descent, but was then no longer available. She initially went looking for an acquaintance of the couple herself, but remained unsuccessful until dark. The then alerted emergency services found the 31-year-old lifeless in a steep gully. It was unclear where the man came from Germany.
