A German hiker has had a fatal accident in the Austrian Alps. During the descent of her trip in the Karwendel Mountains, the 47-year-old fell. Your companion can be saved.
A 47-year-old German hiker was killed while on a mountain trip in the Karwendel Mountains in Austria. Descending the 2,733-meter-high Kaltwasserkarspitze on Thursday, she fell backwards into a narrow, steep gully on Thursday for an unexplained reason and suffered fatal head injuries, as announced by the headquarters of the state police in Tyrol. Her 40-year-old German companion and another mountaineer were rescued by the emergency doctor’s helicopter crew and flown to the community of Scharnitz.
The two women started on their bikes and reached the top at noon. After a rest, they descended along the climbing route. During the descent, the women had to climb over a tower directly on the grade. The 47-year-old fell there.
The Karwendel Mountains are mainly located in Tyrol, but to a lesser extent also in Bavaria. It is popular with hikers and winter sports enthusiasts.
