Flensburg (AP) – The SG Flensburg-Handewitt remains on track despite growing concerns about injuries in the Bundesliga handball. The runner-up defeated HSG Nordhorn-Lingen 33:26 (18:14) by winning its second game of the season.
The best pitcher from Flensburg was Domen Sikošek Pelko with nine hits. Shortly before the game, the SG announced that after runners Jacob Heinl and Johannes Golla, newcomer Lasse Møller would also be out for a long time due to a hand injury.
Bergische HC also took their second win in their second game. The team of trainer Sebastian Hinze defeated HC Erlangen 29:25 (15:14). The best BHC pitchers were Arnor Thor Gunnarsson, Linus Arnesson and Fabian Gutbrod with five hits each.
For GWD Minden, however, the false start to the new season is perfect. Ostwestfalen also lost their second game of the season against HSG Wetzlar with 24:29 (15:13). One reason for the renewed defeat was three red cards against GWD professionals.
The TVB Stuttgart took the first points in the battle to remain in its class. Thanks to a strong performance by national goalkeeper Johannes Bitter, the Swabians won the newly promoted TuSEM Essen with 31:23 (18:12). Shortly before kick-off, the TVB was irritated that the city of Stuttgart had reduced the number of admitted viewers from 930 to 500 in the short term.
