Mönchengladbach (dpa) – The euphoria of the Champions League should help Borussia Mönchengladbach to be successful again in the Bundesliga.
“We want to take the energy for Saturday from the fundamental success”, Gladbach coach Marco Rose said the day before the home game against Hertha BSC (Saturday 3.30 pm / Sky). It wasn’t until Wednesday that Borussia reached the second round of the European premier class for the first time in 43 years, despite a 2-0 defeat at Real Madrid.
But the 44-year-old coach was fundamentally dissatisfied that his team had given too many opportunities for their opponents in previous games. “We are also very happy to be self-critical and put our fingers in the wound to come to terms with Madrid,” said Rose.
For the home game against Berlin, defensive routiner Tony Jantschke returns after recovering from knee problems. “Tony has been doing the whole last practice so he will be there,” said Rose. But Borussia still misses Ramy Bensebaini (training shortage after Corona). “Ramy has not yet received approval from the doctor for training,” said the coach.
