Berlin (AP) – Hertha BSC defender Jordan Torunarigha has tested positive for the coronavirus. As the Berlin Bundesliga club announced, the 23-year-old has been symptom-free and quarantined.
As Torunarigha is currently unable to train with the team due to an ankle injury, Hertha’s preparation for the away game at FC Augsburg on Saturday (3.30pm / Sky) remains unaffected.
Torunarigha is not the first Hertha professional to test positive. In October, the virus was discovered in French newcomer Mattéo Guendouzi. After an eleven-day break, the 21-year-old celebrated his debut on Sunday in a 1-1 draw against Wolfsburg. Maximilian Mittelstädt already had a positive corona test in the spring and had to be quarantined.
