Nürburg (dpa) – The initially ambiguous corona test on an employee of the Formula 1 team Mercedes on the edge of the Grand Prix of the Eifel has turned out to be negative. This was confirmed by team principal Toto Wolff after qualifying at the Nürburgring.
“We had two positive cases, that’s the result,” said Wolff. Mercedes had previously announced two positive corona cases in the Eifel. As a result, the World Championship team had to replace some of its crew on the track.
Drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas were not affected.
