Tottenham won the important away game in Burnley. Despite the cheering players, coach Jose Mourinho found dead silence in the dressing room. There was a reason for that.
Tottenham Hotspur defeated Burnley FC 1-0 on Monday evening. Thanks to the goal of ex-HSV attacker Heung-Min Son (76th minute), the “Spurs” are fifth in the Premier League after the sixth match day. Only two points separate the North Londoners (eleven) from leaders Everton (13).
Despite the all-important trio, there was no party atmosphere in the Tottenham dressing room after the game at Burnley’s historic “Turf Moor” stadium, as head coach Jose Mourinho documented.
Mourinho smiles at his stars’ cabin behavior
The Portuguese star coach posted a photo to his Instagram account in which he smiled a little and pointed to his players in astonishment. The special thing about the photo: the professionals are so absorbed in their mobile phones that they cannot even see their trainer.
“After a great victory in a really tough race … a sign of the times,” Mourinho wrote below the photo. But the two-time Champions League winner could also bring himself to a little praise. “Well done guys.”
On Thursday, Mourinho and the “Spurs” are looking for the next “big win”. In the Europa League, the 2019 Champions League finalist will meet the Belgian representative Royal Antwerp (6:55 PM / in the live ticker on Chillreport).
