The German champions FC Bayern Munich fears Joshua Kimmich. The midfielder injured his right knee in the top match at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday and had to be replaced.

According to the trade magazine “Kicker” there is a suspicion of a meniscal tear. As a result, the German national player had to undergo surgery and then be out for a few weeks. This has not yet been confirmed by FC Bayern. National coach Joachim Löw has not yet nominated a Kimmich replacement for the international matches in the coming weeks.

Kimmich sustained the injury when he made a mistake on BVB striker Erling Haaland, for which he also received a yellow card. Then he stumbled onto the field, supported by two escorts. Last season, Kimmich’s top performance had decided the top match in Dortmund with his goal.
