Johannesburg (AP) – Former Bielefeld coach Ernst Middendorp is no longer the coach of South African first division Kaizer Chiefs.
“We discussed a lot of things about our team, including our playing style, performance and results, before making the decision,” said club boss Kaizer Motaung, according to a club release. The Kaizer Chiefs were ousted from first place on the last day of the season in mid-August due to a defeat. “That broke our hearts,” said Motaung.
Middendorp (61) took over the club for the second time in December 2018. From 2005 to 2007 he worked for the South Africans.
