Berlin (dpa) – 1. FC Union Berlin and goalkeeper Loris Karius, according to information from “Kicker”, should agree on a change to the Alte Försterei for a year.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper is on loan from Liverpool FC and will undergo a medical examination at the Berlin Bundesliga club on Monday.
Manager Oliver Ruhnert recently described Karius as a possible newcomer. The talks had progressed, but the change had not yet been resolved, he said.
Karius played 91 times in the Bundesliga for FSV Mainz 05, but he has no perspective at Liverpool FC. Karius was already on loan to Besiktas Istanbul in 2018 and returned to coach Jürgen Klopp’s speeches in May this year.
