Koch met Labbadia before moving to Leeds

Leeds (AP) – German national footballer Robin Koch also met Hertha coach Bruno Labbadia before moving to England’s Leeds United.

“There was an intensive exchange, I also met Bruno Labbadia once”, said the 24-year-old in an interview with “Sport Bild” about the interest of Hertha BSC. There were actually options to stay in the Bundesliga, the ex-SC Freiburg pro said: “In the end I made my decision very consciously and with full conviction.”

One of the reasons for his move to the Premier League was Leeds coach Marcelo Bielsa. “For Pep Guardiola, Bielsa is the best coach in the world from what I’ve read. And Guardiola is not just anyone,” said the defensive specialist. “When someone like that says something like that, there must be something behind it.”
