Donald Trump is allowed to leave the clinic three days after his admission. Meanwhile, the US President had been treated with oxygen for his 19 Covid disease. Now he feels great.
After only three nights in hospital, US President Donald Trump, who is infected with the corona virus, says he can return to the White House on Monday (local time). “I feel really good!” He tweeted on Monday, announcing that he would be leaving Walter Reed Hospital at 6:30 pm (local time / Tuesday 12:30 am).
I am leaving the wonderful Walter Reed Medical Center at 6:30 pm today. Feel really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it rule your life. We’ve developed some really great medicine and knowledge under the Trump administration. I feel better than 20 years ago!

“Don’t be afraid of Covid,” added the US president. “Don’t let the virus rule your life.” Under his leadership, great medicines and knowledge had been developed. He feels better today than he did twenty years ago. Trump’s personal physician Sean Conley was scheduled to give a press conference later on Monday.
The condition, meanwhile, was more serious than shown
Trump announced his corona infection after midnight US East Coast time on Friday and was taken by helicopter to Walter Reed Military Hospital in Bethesda north of Washington less than 24 hours later. Over the weekend, there was conflicting information about his health. On Sunday it was clear: the president’s situation was now more serious than initially suggested. Trump belongs to a corona risk group at 74 years old.
Four weeks before the November 3 US election, there was no better news for the president than an early hospital discharge. On Saturday, it was said that Trump was not over the mountain yet. On Sunday, doctors had promised to resign on Monday and said that Trump could then receive further treatment in the White House. There’s a hospital wing there.
Trump already made it clear in his tweet that the resignation of his representation highlights that there are already successful treatments for the virus, which he cites repeatedly when he says the end of the pandemic is in sight.
Trump downplayed the risk of the virus
The corona pandemic has hit the United States hard. More than 7.4 million infections are known and nearly 210,000 people have died since its inception. Trump has been repeatedly accused of downplaying the danger posed by the virus. In recent weeks, he had traveled extensively around the country, holding election campaigns with thousands of supporters and not forgoing close contact with other people.
After Trump’s infection became known, countless people around him tested positive, including the White House spokeswoman, his campaign manager, the leader of the Republican Party and several US senators.
Twice questionable oxygen levels
The White House had presented Trump’s move to the hospital on Friday as a purely precautionary measure. Trump’s doctors on Saturday painted a rosy picture of the president’s health. But a few hours after his positive corona test on Friday, Trump had a high fever and his blood oxygen saturation dropped below 94 percent, so he was given supplemental oxygen. On Saturday, the oxygen saturation dropped back to about 93 percent. When the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen attacks the lungs, the body is poorly supplied with oxygen.
Because of the temporary oxygen depletion, Trump was given the steroid dexamethasone, which the World Health Organization recommends for the treatment of patients on a severe course of Covid-19. He has also received an antibody cocktail – an experimental treatment method – and is being treated with remdesivir. Experts saw in the drugs indications of a serious course of the disease.
