Leverkusen Bailey must remain in Jamaica for quarantine

Leverkusen (AP) – Bayer Leverkusen’s pro Leon Bailey must stay in Jamaica for his corona quarantine.

Because the attacking player’s return flight from his home country, scheduled for Wednesday evening, could not begin as planned, the 23-year-old is spending the prescribed 14-day domestic quarantine on the Caribbean island, the Bundesliga club announced.

Jamaican authorities had temporarily prevented Bailey’s private flight to Germany shortly before departure due to corona-related local hygiene regulations, Bayer said. This means that Bailey will be absent from the Werkself’s planned corona test in Leverkusen on Friday.

Bailey was at the birthday party of the coronavirus-infected Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt (34). He went into self-isolation on Tuesday and was to spend the rest of the quarantine in Leverkusen.
