Löw: Neuer would have earned a prize as a world football player

Munich (dpa) – National coach Joachim Löw sees Manuel Neuer as the logical choice for the world’s best footballer of the year.

“I have nothing against Robert Lewandowski, he’s a top scorer,” Loew said to the “kicker”. “But for me, the world footballer this year would be Manuel Neuer. What he just kept in this last round in Lisbon!” Neuer kept the shop close and “played a big part in winning the Champions League,” Löw said of his captain and regular goalkeeper.

For many experts, Neuer’s teammate at FC Bayern Munich, Robert Lewandowski, is the favorite for the FIFA prize.
