In Paris? Won. Against Leipzig? Won high. Manchester United have had an impeccable Champions League season so far. At least until the duel in Istanbul, which was a shame for the English.

Manchester United surprisingly lost their third Champions League match. At Basaksehir in Istanbul it was a 1: 2 defeat for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
After United could concentrate on defending and counterattacks against Paris (2-1) and Leipzig (5-0), the “Red Devils” had to play the game against Basaksehir themselves, which led to some errors.
Almost in their own goal just before time
Possession of 68 percent could rarely be turned into good opportunities by Manchester. Istanbul, on the other hand, was lurking and struck twice in the first half. Ex-Bundesliga striker Demba Ba (12th) and captain Edin Visca (40th) scored for Basaksehir.
Manchester came back on top via Anthony Martial (43.), but the Solskjaer-Elf was rarely really dangerous. Only in injury time was United close to the equalizer. Substitute Mehmet Topal almost scored an own goal, goalkeeper Epureanu saved the surprising victory (90 + 2).
Lazio missed the victory
Lazio, who won 3-1 against BVB on match day, had to do without former Dortmund striker Ciro Immobile in St. Petersburg. The media reported a possible link with the Corona protocol.
Alexander Jerochin (32nd) gave Russian champion Zenit the lead with a volley before Felipe Caicedo (82nd) equalized late. Zenit lost at BVB (0: 2) and against Club Brugge (1: 2).
