Barcelona (AP) – World footballer Lionel Messi remains captain of Spain’s number two FC Barcelona despite the change of theater in recent weeks. As the Catalans report, the captain’s team generally remains unchanged.
In addition to the Argentinian, Sergio Busquets, Gerard Piqué and Sergi Roberto occupy the office in that order.
Messi, who originally wanted to leave his long-term club this summer but was then forced to stay, has led the Barça team since 2018. The 33-year-old is entering his 17th season with the Catalans.
