Microsoft regularly releases new versions of Windows 10. Over time, the company is ending support for older versions – and forcing customers to update. Soon it will be that time again.
Users of older Windows versions should be prepared for forced updates: According to the “Windows Latest” specialist page, Microsoft has notified users that support for version 1903 will end.
Users will be notified in the Windows 10 settings. Both private and business users of Windows 10 version 1903 from spring 2019 will be affected (more about the update read here). Here, support runs until December 8, 2020. After that, this version of Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates.
If you’re still running version 1809, you also need to quickly keep your Windows up to date. Because Microsoft writes on its website that support for this version will end on November 10, 2020. However, private users are mainly affected here. Users of the corporate version will be supported until May 11, 2021.
Update to the latest version
According to “Windows Latest”, the system will automatically upgrade to the latest version of Windows 10. This is the October 2020 update with version number 20H2. What innovations this update brings, read here.
If the computer is not ready for the current version, it will be updated to the next possible version instead, such as version 1909, write “Windows Latest”.
If you want to postpone the update, you can usually select this in the “Settings”.
