In Fulda, an eight-year-old boy disappeared after going to the toilet. After a large-scale search, the boy came to a friend’s house. Now the parents are being examined.
In the case of the temporarily missing eight-year-old from Fulda, police are now investigating four people – including the parents. “You are suspected of having contributed to the boy’s disappearance and of having brought him out of jail for youth care,” police and prosecutor said. The parents have no custody of the child. The boy was in early December after his disappearance from Fulda found safe in North Rhine-Westphalia. The four suspects are between 24 and 48 years old.
Extensive search for a child
According to researchers, the child lived in a living group that was separate from the parents. When he met his mother in a youth care facility, he went to the toilet and disappeared. The police searched with a drone and thermal imaging camera. The fire brigade and rescue dog team were also in attendance. About a day later, the boy was discovered by a friend in the Medebach area (Hochsauerlandkreis) and handed over to the youth welfare office.
“In addition to the criminal investigation into suspected seizure of minors, the police are currently investigating whether the costs for the operational measures amounting to several thousand euros can be passed on to those responsible,” said the investigating officers. They initially did not provide any information about the other suspects.
