Spielberg (dpa) – Formula 1 veteran Kimi Raikkonen has welcomed Fernando Alonso’s return to the motorsport royal for the new season. “This is good news for Formula 1 and for him. They have a long history together,” said the oldest driver in the field at the age of 40.
The future of Alfa Romeo driver Raikkonen after this season is still unclear. Alonso will start again for Renault from 2021 at the age of 39.
Whether you can still achieve Formula 1 performance in old age is ‘very individual,’ said Finn Raikkonen. But there is “a point where you notice the limit.”
